Lists

Oh how I love a list. Now, don't get me wrong, a long list, no time, and other people waiting... not quite as much. But give me a beautiful to do list, (handwritten, of course) and I am in heaven. I adore the feeling of accomplishment that accompanies marking something off that list. The weight that lifts to see one less thing I need to do...ahh...heaven. I find that I even get excited about paying bills. Yes, I realize that something may genuinely be wrong with me, but again, its checking something off the list that makes my day. One less thing to worry about. I liken it to the feeling you get when you get finished cleaning and can just sit back and relax. Enjoy the clean space. Breathe a sigh of relief. As much as I enjoy lists, I find I make fewer of them now. I literally made numerous copies of the same list, always revising, always adding, at my last job. It was a never ending battle. With constantly changing priorities. Oh, how glad I am now!
Anyway, lists make the world go round. Well, maybe not exactly, but it rotates a little smoother with a list! So, currently on my list, we are shopping for wedding gifts, getting ready for a Class Reunion, multiple paintings, upcoming photo shoot, and trying to fit in time to both workout and spend time with my husband somewhere in there. Sometimes its very difficult to be creative on someone else's timetable. Occasionally I feel instantly inspired. Other times, umm, not so much. My lists keep me organized, reminded, and a little anxious at times. Then again, a lot of things tend to make me anxious. That's definitely a story for another time. I am just lucky I can recall things I need to do for long enough to jot them down. I'm thinking of working on a stained glass version of this next...

Well, I guess it is time to go try to mark something else off the list.
